Research Policy
 
Research Mission Statement:
“To increase knowledge through sound and ethically justifiable research projects from which benefits for a species or the management of captive species can be obtained”

 

• All research to be undertaken at Blair Drummond Safari Park must be initially approved by the Research Department to ensure ethical and scientific validity, so animal welfare is not compromised.

• Researchers must inform the Research Department of any changes made to their original project outline.

• All reports and subsequent publications should acknowledge Blair Drummond Safari Park and/or any individual park staff who assisted or were involved in the project.

• Researchers must provide the park with either an electronic or hard copy of the completed project and an electronic copy of all raw data in a clearly annotated and understandable format.

• Researchers must gain the permission of Blair Drummond Safari Park if they wish to submit their projects for publication, or presentations of the research, the park must be named as a co-author.

• Blair Drummond Safari Park must gain the permission of the researcher if they wish to publish or present the data, the researcher must be named as a co-author.

• Blair Drummond Safari Park reserves the right to publicise any part of the research project, however the researcher’s permission must be sought.

• A copy of any subsequent publications, resulting from research carried out at Blair Drummond Safari Park, must be provided.
