Work Experience

Blair Drummond Safari Park receives many requests for work experience. We consider work experience extremely important and all our staff are more than happy to pass on their skills and knowledge to anyone wishing to pursue a career in this field.

We have six main departments where students can work. You may, subject to availability, have the chance to work in each section during your time here.

Daily tasks involve:
• Mucking out and cleaning of animal enclosures
• Feed preparation for a variety of animals
• Implementing enrichment for animals
• In some cases public interactions.

Please be aware:
• Students must be enthusiastic about improving the welfare of animals.
• Tasks will not involve contact with the animals.
• Daily tasks are often very routine and can be physically demanding.
• All students will work under the supervision of keepers throughout their placement.
• Students must be 18 years or over.

Due to high demand we can only offer these work experience positions to students from animal related university or college courses and can only accommodate a maximum of two students at any one time.

For further information on work experience, please read our Information Sheet

If you would like to apply for work experience, please complete an
on-line Application Form.

If you require more information please contact Nicola on 01786 843105.

If you or someone you know would like to get hands on and work a day at Blair Drummond, but are not doing an animal related course, please check out our
