WELCOME
On visiting the Bird of Prey Centre you will get a chance to see a variety of raptors and owls. Our collection is all working stock, we are proud to honestly say that instead of a large collection of redundant raptors ALL of our have their part to play in the three daily flying demonstration. Unless on rest up periods whilst moulting All of the Hawks and Owls at the centre get flown free usually once or twice daily. Having a comparatively small collection we ensure high standards of daily management and husbandry.

The Bird of Prey Centre is now run in hand by the park, new staff have been appointed and have made considerable changes to the centre and are getting some fantastic results from the hawks. It is the intention to rebuild the remaining section of the centre this winter.

Bird of Prey Flying Demonstrations

Every day at 12.45, 14.15 and 15.45

We reserve the right to cancel flying demonstrations during inclement weather; fog, strong winds and heavy rain, unforseen circumstances may also effect demonstration times.

Hawk Walk – This is an awesome opportunity to take a very relaxing walk around our loch and take in the local wildlife and scenery. You will be able to observe a hawk flying alongside you, you will then be able to call it into your fist as you walk around the loch. Our staff are always very friendly and will explain aspects of training and flying one of natures most awesome and successful predators.

Bird of Prey Discovery Voucher - This is geared to the enthusiast, here we will take slightly longer in explaining the processes involved in training different birds of prey. You will get to fly and observe different species of raptor, you will learn fundamental skills and get a good taste of the management requirements behind keeping captive birds of prey. Also includes a Hawk Walk

Lantra Award "Beginning Falconry" - This award has been developed by Lantra Awards with the help and assistance of professional Falconers throughout the UK. It is a formal award intended for those new to Falconry, or those who wish to keep Raptors and/or Owls. It is approved by the Hawk Board and is administered by Lantra Awards. The award assumes that candidates have no previous knowledge or experience and covers aspects of Bird of Prey Management and Husbandry up to flying to the fist on a line or creance.
