EAZA SOUTHEAST ASIA CAMPAIGN 2011
EAZA, the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria, conduct an annual conservation campaign.
Last year’s campaign was the Ape Campaign and Blair Drummond achieved a gold fundraising award as we raised €10 794.14! We could not have raised this without the help from our visitors – thank you.
This year is the EAZA Southeast Asia Campaign, which will focus on all species over 1kg and at risk of extinction in Southeast Asia that are at risk through a combination of factors, most prominently illegal trade-driven hunting and habitat loss.
Southeast Asia is one of the most biodiverse regions on Earth, populated by some of the best recognised and well loved species on the planet, including the Sumatran tiger, Asian elephant and orangutan. But this campaign will be focusing on some of the more mysterious species to be found in the diverse habitats of the area.
At Blair Drummond, we have only a couple species from Southeast Asia, our Amur tigers and Lowland Anoa, but both are endangered and need our help.

All projects and activities require funding. To create a lasting fund, EAZA are aiming to raise €750 000 to create a fund for Southeast Asian species conservation projects. Blair Drummond has pledged to raise €5 000. You can find out more at the EAZA Southeast Asia Campaign website and how to help, by clicking here.
