Environment

What We Do at the Park

It is clear that all organisations produce some form of environmental impact. Due to this, the measures we take to reduce our environmental impact will be reviewed on a regular basis.   To reduce our environmental impact we have existing measures in place to optimize our environmental performance:

Recycling - All cans, paper, cardboard and ink cartridges are recycled in the Park, this reduces our waste being sent to landfill.

                          Recycling Bins   Recycling cardboard

Transport/Carbon Emissions -
Staff, (where possible) use bikes as their mode of transportation in order reduce carbon emissions, this reduces the parks overall carbon footprint and gets staff fit!

Water Consumption - We reduce our water consumption by using a rain water harvesting system. These collect run off from the roof area through diverting water from drains into a tank which can then be recycled. We also use self stopping taps in order to prevent water wastage.

Reusing - All wood and metal are reused where possible e.g. telegraph poles for fencing, Sawdust is used from our sawmill is reused as bedding for animals.

Fertiliser Use - Dung collected from various animal enclosures is used on the ground as fertilizer.

Waste Foods – We have set up our supermarket collection scheme whereby waste fruit and vegetables are reused as animal feed, this helps the park reduce consumption and prevents fruit and veg being needlessly sent to landfill. We also compost our waste fruit and veg and use this within the grounds.

Sustainable Charcoal –
The charcoal used in the barbeque sections is sustainably produced.
