EDUCATION OFFICER


A vacancy for the position of Education Officer has arisen at Blair Drummond Safari and Adventure Park in Scotland. We are situated midway between Glasgow and Edinburgh just 4 miles from Stirling.

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and motivated person, specialising in primary education but able to work flexibly throughout all age ranges.

Duties within this role will include, to develop, plan and deliver a wide range of educational and conservation activities and programmes for students and our general visitors both within the Safari Park and outreach. Other responsibilities would include carrying out animal experiences and supervising our volunteer programme.

Applicants must have relevant qualifications, experience of education delivery/teaching, giving presentations/public speaking and a good level of animal conservation and science knowledge. It would also be advantageous if the applicant had previous experience in a similar environment. It is essential that the candidate also has a high level of IT skills.

The successful person must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team and a clean driving licence is essential.

Salary is £17000 p.a.

The post is a 1 year contract with the possibility of a full time position to the right person.
