Indian runner ducks

Let's learn
Indian runner ducks are tall, slender ducks with long necks. Their small wings means they can’t fly, so instead they run along the ground in an upright position. Originating in Indonesia, runner ducks are a domestic breed that are now bred widely across the world and kept as pets and show-birds. The females are great egg layers and are capable of producing 350 eggs in a year.
It’s quite hard to tell a runner duck’s sex until it is older, but the drakes have a small curl on the end of their tails, while the hens have flat tails. They come in all sorts of different colours, including black, white, chocolate, blue, fawn, mallard, white and trout.
