Plan an educational visit to our outdoor classroom
Blair Drummond Safari Park is home to over 350 animals, making it a stunning learning environment for children of all ages.
We welcome school trips from across Scotland and further afield, whether you want to explore the park at your leisure or book an interactive session with our Education Team.
Our rate for school visits is £7.25 (ex VAT) per pupil, and optional education activities can be booked at £1.25 (ex VAT) per pupil.
Planning your visit
The Safari Park is open from 10:00am until 5:30pm every day between 23rd March and 27th October 2019. You’re welcome to arrive at a time that suits and stay for as long as you like, although we recommend at least two hours.
Most of our school parties arrive by coach and start with our drive-through reserves. This takes around 30 minutes and gives pupils the chance to see lions, monkeys, rhinos, zebras and other animals from Africa and Asia up close from the comfort of their bus.
We've got ample coach parking within the Safari Park, and from there you can discover our tigers, elephants, giraffes, lemurs and Pets Farm areas and enclosures on foot. Our 'Meet the Keeper' talks take place at various times throughout the day and are a great way to find out about how we care for our animals and the conservation of endangered species.
Just as popular are our indoor sea lion presentations. For 30 minutes your group can watch sea lions interact with keepers and learn about animal behaviour, conservation and the effect of plastic pollution in our oceans. Other attractions include a bird of prey display and a boat trip to Chimp Island.
The facilities at the Safari Park are ideally suited for school visits. We have an undercover picnic area, accessible toilets and excellent adventure play area.
You’ll likely have lots of other questions around some of the more practical things, such as coach parking, eating areas, toilets and first aid. So please do contact us with any questions by email on email@example.com or phone 01786 843 109. We aim to keep you well-informed so you can plan and enjoy your visit as much as your group.
We offer free visits for teachers who are planning a class visit. This must be arranged in advance. Please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Booking your visit
We have a range of optional activities suitable for class visits. These include talks, guided walks and educational sessions, and are tailored to age groups and learning outcomes. From pre-school through to high school, children can learn about wildlife and habitats, conservation and more in fun and engaging activities. Take a look through our Education pages for topics, costs and guidance for school groups. If you don’t see what you need, our Education Team will be happy to chat through options and customised sessions.
