Safari School Success
The Blair Drummond Safari School received fantastic feedback from students and parents after launching this summer.
The week long course has been designed by the park's Education Team and offers a great insight into working in the industry. Twelve students were given full access behind the scenes to work with the full range of species held in our collection. They worked alongside the keepers, getting mucked in and put theory into practise enriching the lives of our animals.
Aimed at 12 to 17 year olds, the school covers the essentials of working with animals in a modern zoological collection. It's a great insight into the industry at an age where questions and decisions are being made for the career path of these young students.
Safari School is to be repeated four times this year, It was fully booked within a week of the dates being announced and was so popular we have decided to put on an additional school this October 12-16th. For further details or to reserve a place, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
After the graduation ceremony on the final day, one parent writes:
"I think you gave more than we expected, Elliot would quite happily have stayed for six weeks! I am beyond happy with the depth and breadth of both class based and practical hands on learning. He came home everyday buzzing to tell me what he had learnt and seemed to absorb so much info and detail that doesn't happen at school, the prizes shirts certificates and folders are absolutely phenomenal."
