Happy Purple Tuesday! This day is a global, social movement designed to improve the customer experience for disabled people. We are proud to be working with Purple Tuesday to promote awareness, increase understanding, and create solutions for better accessibility in our park.
Here at Blair Drummond, we aim to be as accessible as possible. All of our customer-facing staff receive disability awareness training and receive any updates to our procedures in weekly staff newsletters and daily team huddles. We have taken care to provide appropriate facilities (such as our Changing Places toilet), and we have created a detailed accessibility guide that can be accessed from our website prior to your visit. We also have over 70 disabled parking spots, and visitors who require special assistance can receive free admission for an accompanying carer.
We are committed to seeking out advice and expertise from relevant bodies in order to improve our practice, and have previously worked closely with Euan’s Guide and Scottish Autism. We have also recently joined the Hidden Disabilities scheme.
This year, we pledge to further increase staff awareness within the park through additional training, staff updates, and team meetings.
