We are sad to announce that Harry, our twenty year old Asian small-clawed otter, died on 18th August.
Harry had lived with us at the Safari Park since 2002. He had been suffering health problems associated with old-age since the start of the year and his condition was being closely monitored by our animal team.
Harry was put to sleep by our vets as the quality of his life rapidly deteriorated and nothing more could be done.
Lisa Smith, Head Keeper at Blair Drummond Safari Park said: “We are devastated to confirm that Harry died last week due to health conditions associated with old age. During his time with us he received the very best medical care and animal husbandry, and he enjoyed life.
Harry has been a vibrant presence at the Park for over 19 years and he has brought great joy to our visitors. He will be missed terribly by everyone who worked with him.”
